PEMC employees unite to spread Christmas message of hope and love to Typhoon Odette-ravaged towns in Leyte
Tue, 28 Dec 2021

Employees of the Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC), the governing body of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market (WESM), united in raising funds to give much-needed help to the Typhoon Odette (International name: Rai)-ravaged towns in Leyte.

“We are a lean organization with a total of 76 employees but with everyone heeding the call, we were able to raise funds within 48 hours to send aid through an on-the-ground partner in Leyte,” said PEMC President Leonido J. Pulido III.

PEMC partnered with the Energy Development Corporation (EDC), which has generating facilities in Leyte, to send the immediate essentials such as hygiene kits, food packs, and water for the communities to help them get back on their feet after Typhoon Odette swept through the Visayas and Mindanao on 16 December 2021 leaving massive destruction in its wake.

“PEMC wanted to bring the Christmas message of hope and love to the affected communities in Leyte, which have not had much coverage in the news but equally need assistance,” stressed Pulido.
