NOTICE OF VACANCY AND CALL FOR NOMINATIONS

2026 ELECTION OF THE REGULAR MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE INDEPENDENT ELECTRICITY MARKET OPERATOR OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC. (IEMOP)

The Philippine Electricity Market Corporation (PEMC), through its PEM Board Selection Committee, hereby announces the existence of seven (7) vacancies in the Board of Directors of the Independent Electricity Market Operator of the Philippines, Inc. (IEMOP) and invites the submission of nominations for qualified candidates for election during the 2026 Election of the Regular Members of the IEMOP Board of Directors.

The members of the IEMOP Board of Directors must be independent of the Philippine electric power industry and the Government and must possess the qualifications prescribed under the Revised Guidelines Governing the Nomination and Delegation of the Regular Board of Directors of IEMOP, as approved by the Department of Energy.

IMPORTANT NOTICE ON THE 2026 ELECTIONS

The 2026 election shall serve as a transitional measure to restore the staggered-term system of the IEMOP Board. Accordingly, the seven (7) Directors to be elected in 2026 shall be assigned terms as follows:

  • Two (2) Directors shall serve until the June 2027 annual elections;
  • Two (2) Directors shall serve until the June 2028 annual elections; and
  • Three (3) Directors shall serve until the June 2029 annual elections.

 

SUBMISSION OF NOMINATIONS

Interested nominators and candidates shall submit the following documents:

  1. Nomination Form (Form 1);
  2. Undertaking of Independence (Form 2);
  3. Updated Curriculum Vitae; and
  4. Such other supporting documents as may be necessary to establish the nominee's qualifications and compliance with the requirements under the Revised IEMOP Guidelines.

All nominations must be received no later than 13 October 2026 at 5:00 P.M. Late submissions shall not be accepted.

 

Electronic copies submitted through the foregoing email address shall be accepted for purposes of the nomination process. The PEM Board Selection Committee reserves the right to require the submission of original hard copies of any nomination documents and supporting records submitted electronically.

SELECTION OF NOMINEES

All nominees shall be evaluated and shortlisted by the PEM Board Selection Committee in accordance with the qualifications, disqualifications, independence requirements, competency standards, and other applicable provisions of the Revised IEMOP Guidelines and the relevant WESM Rules.

QUALIFICATIONS AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Interested nominees are encouraged to carefully review the qualifications, disqualifications, independence requirements, professional qualifications, term limits, prohibitions, continuing obligations, and other eligibility requirements prescribed under the Revised IEMOP Guidelines, a copy of which is hereto attached as Appendix A and forms an integral part of this Notice of Vacancy and Call for Nominations. Failure to satisfy any of the applicable requirements may be grounds for disqualification from the nomination and selection process.
